Cookie Policy and Website Terms of Use
Cookie Policy
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data websites store within your web browser, and which is sent back to the website that stored it each time you access it. Almost all websites use cookies in some way or another, and every page you visit in those sites writes cookies to your computer and receives them back from it.
Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to you by gathering and remembering information about your activity or preferences. For example, cookies allow you to login on one page, then move around to other pages and stay logged in.
A cookie does not give us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.
Cookies are deemed either “essential” or “optional”. Essential cookies are part of making a website operate correctly. Most web browsers automatically allow essential cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of websites.
Optional cookies allow additional functionality. We are required by law to ask your permission to set these cookies.
There are two types of cookies in common use: first-party cookies, and third-party cookies.
First-party cookies are only sent back to the organisation that set them. Third-party cookies allow information to be shared across websites and with third parties. The About Cookies website has more information about cookies and how to manage them.
