#PhilanthropyForClimate

#PhilanthropyForClimate is the global movement of foundations committed to taking urgent action on climate change. Now hosted at WINGS, it started as a special initiative at Global Dialogue in 2020.

Early Action Funders Alliance

The Early Action Funders Alliance (EAFA) was a group of UK funders who shared a vision of a society that prevents problems from occurring – rather than one that copes with the consequences. Committed to using early action approaches in their funding across different sectors, and to sharing this learning, EAFA was active 2014–2019.

The Five Foundation

In 2020-21 we incubated The Five Foundation. Now an independent charity, it works at the systemic level to advocate for better funding streams to women on the African continent and beyond to achieve Global Goal 5: the elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls.

IMIX

From 2015 to 2018 we incubated IMIX, a new organisation to increase communications capacity and coordinate media activity in the UK’s migration and integration sectors. Now an independent charity, IMIX is creating a better conversation about our society – one which celebrates people who make the UK their home and helps us all live well together.

Strategic Fund for Turkey

The Strategic Fund for Turkey was a seven-year regranting programme created in partnership with the Sigrid Rausing Trust. From 2008 to 2014, it enabled independent funders to support the emerging human rights movement in Turkey at a time of transition in the region.

Syria Working Group

From 2016 onwards we convened a Syria Working Group at Global Dialogue, to inform and enable private philanthropic support for Syria and its neighbouring countries.

Thomas Paine Initiative

The Thomas Paine Initiative (TPI) was a ten-year donor collaborative (2009–2019) that aimed to strengthen support for human rights in the UK. TPI developed evidence-based messaging, invested in strategic communications, and explored the democratisation of human rights through grantmaking, research and convening.

UKLGBTI

The UK LGBTI Donor Initiative, active 2018-2020, encouraged new individual and institutional donors to mobilise and increase their support for international LGBTI rights causes.
