Shaping the Future: A fund to support leadership in the migration sector

We are excited to announce the launch of Shaping the Future: A Fund to Support Leadership in the Migration Sector, which is now officially open for applications.

This fund has been co-created with sector experts to address the growing need for leadership capacity and capability in the refugee and migration sector. It provides resources for individuals, organisations, and networks to foster holistic, sustainable leadership development.

 

About the fund

 

The ‘Shaping the Future’ Leadership Initiative is designed to bolster leadership in the refugee and migration sector. It offers targeted support to:

  • Grassroots organisations
  • Individuals with lived experience of migration

 

The fund promotes leadership development that is:

  • Anti-oppressive: Challenging systemic inequities and power dynamics.
  • Wellbeing-focused: Prioritising mental health and sustainable leadership practices.
  • Grounded in lived experience: Building on the strengths and insights gained through lived experience of migration

 

Through this initiative, organisations and individuals can design and tailor their own leadership programmes or approaches to meet the specific needs of their teams and communities.

 

 

 

Funding opportunities

 

Applicants can apply for funding for up to two years. There are three funding pots are available:

Individuals: Grants of up to £10,000 to support personal leadership development.

Organisations: Grants of £10,000–£60,000 to strengthen leadership within organisations.

Collaborative partnerships: Grants of £60,000–£100,000 to support collaborative initiatives that foster leadership across networks.

Key dates: January to May 2025

22 January – 12 March 2025, 5pm GMT

Outcome Notification by April 2025

How to apply

 

1) Review the Guidance Document: Before applying, download and review the detailed guidance.

2) Review our Frequently Asked Questions document and/or email us at mex@global-dialogue.org if you have any questions or need assistance.

3) Download and review the application questions to draft question responses before officially submitting your application on Typeform.

4) Submit Your Application by completing the online application form.
